Full Product Description

Scavenge ejector pumps are hydro-mechanical pumps with no moving parts, comprised of an aluminum alloy housing, nozzle, inlet, and outlet. The scavenge ejector pumps provide a reliable, low weight, and cost-efficient capability to scavenge and transfer fuel continuously from the main wing tanks to the collector bays behind the engines.

These pumps work in combination with gravity to continuously replenish the collector bays.  As venturi pumps, they tap off the motive fuel pressure lines from their respective engines in order to draw fuel in through its inlet, submerged in the sump region of the main wing tanks, and transfer it through its outlet nozzle into the collector bays of each wing. The pumps use the venturi effect to convert the pressure energy of the incoming motive flow fuel, to velocity energy, which in turn creates a low-pressure zone inside the housing that draws in and entrains the fuel from the tank through the inlet port.

Each ejector pump is installed low, in the sump region of the main wing tank, and protrudes through the rib between the main wing tank and the collector bay in both the left and right wings.

APPLICATIONS: Commercial aircraft such as the Airbus A220

FEATURES AND ATTRIBUTES:
Parker’s Scavenge Ejector Pumps have a corrosion resistant, lightweight construction that weighs only 1.2 lb.  The ejector pumps share a design and fielded service legacy of similar, reliable Parker fuel and scavenge ejector pumps that goes back decades, and with a guaranteed mean time between failure (MTBF) of 1,358,700 flight hours. The scavenge ejector pumps are certified for electrostatic discharge and conducted current lightning strikes by virtue of their construction and installation in the aircraft.

The ejector pumps are compatible with all standard, available aviation fuels including Jet A, Jet A-1, JP-5, JP-8 and TS-1. Parker’s scavenge ejector pumps are designed to operate with a nominal 16 gpm motive flow that produces a nominal 81 gpm at the outlet, and at operating fuel pressures between 0 and 500 psig at the nozzle inlet, and between 0 and 7 psig at the outlet. Operational fuel temperatures can range between -58 degrees F and +131 degrees F, and with ambient operating temperatures between -67 degrees F and +185 degrees F.
