This electric motor-driven gear pump assembly meters fuel directly to a gas turbine engine fuel manifold and nozzles.
The fuel module functions as a self-contained variable speed electric motor-driven fuel metering pump that supplies fuel to the fuel manifold in a gas turbine engine. It is a completely sealed unit without drains or sumps. The unit is engine mounted and communicates directly with the engine FADEC (engine controller). It is fire resistant, withstanding direct flame for five minutes with optional fire shields.
APPLICATIONS:
Fuel pump for an auxiliary power unit (APU) for commercial and military aircraft.
FEATURES AND ATTRIBUTES:
Replaces traditional engine controls with a bypass circuit with a compact fuel control with direct fuel metering. Engine mounted without a complicated gearbox pad needed for traditional pump mounting. Added features and components include:
• Electric motor and speed controller
• Power conditioning and circuit board heater
• Controller–area network (CAN) communication bus
• Fuel pump (boost and gear stages)
• Pump relief valve
• Fuel filter assembly (filter, bypass valve)
• Sensors include: filter differential pressure, absolute pressure and temp sensor
• Fuel shutoff valve (solenoid type)
• Flow divider valve drive type: space vector modulation field-oriented control
• Health monitoring: internal fault detection
OPTIONAL FEATURES:
Available with input power options of three phase 18 VAC or 46 VDC.
