Item Information

Marine FBO Fuel Filter/Water Separator Series

Marine FBO filter assemblies are designed to meet the toughest industrial refueling conditions while providing easy filter cartridge change outs. Flow rates can vary from 20 to 75 gpm (76 to 284 lpm), depending on filter cartridge element used and fuel type.

The assembly features a locking ring collar, which attaches the filter housing to the aluminum die-cast head with four bolts serviced by aluminum hand operated knobs. A single person can easily hand-loosen the four collar bolts, rotate, and lower the bowl assembly for element change outs. With a new element installed, the bowl is simply raised, rotated into position, and the knobs hand tightened evenly to complete the maintenance.

The Marine FBO's housing is powder coated and capable of withstanding up to 150 psi at 240°F. A manual vent valve on the head and a manual drain valve in the steel bowl help provide ease of service. The assembly includes a heavy duty mounting bracket with integral fittings that extend the 1-1/2 NPT ports connections.

The FBO can be used in a wide range of installations, including marine fuel docks, aviation fuel trucks, aviation fueling cabinets, fuel dispensing systems, and fuel systems on large engines. Choose the FBO-10-MA or the FBO-14-MA assembly and then customize the filter to your specific application by installing a 1, 5, 10, or 25 micron rated water separator, silicone treated, or water absorbing filter element.

Common Pressure /Temperature Specifications:

• Maximum Operating Pressure: 150 psi (10 bar) at 240°F (116°C)
• Clean Housing and Filter Pressure Drop: 1 psi (0.07 bar)
• Maximum Fuel Temperature: 190°F (88°C)

How to select:
1. Identify type of fuel to be filtered, element function, micron rating

a. Water Separator Elements remove water and contaminants and are the most popular filter elements.
b. Silicone Treated Elements remove particle contaminants down to one micron and can be used upstream, before a fuel filter/water separator to extend filter life.
c. Water Absorber Elements absorb water and filter out contaminants from high flow fuel streams. These elements stop flow when too much water is absorbed.

2. Identify maximum system flow rate needed.

a. FBO-10-MA assemblies flow 25 to 53 gpm depending on element type and fuel.
b. FBO-14-MA assemblies flow 30 to 75 gpm depending on element type and fuel.

3. Note these filter assemblies units do not come with an element installed. The right element for the application must be ordered separately. Once you choose your product, the correct filter element will be listed along with the assembly part number for ordering.

Other Options:
