Full Product Description

The AW double wiper seal serves the purpose of preventing the intrusion of foreign particles (dust, dirt, de-icer, solvents, and other) into axially moved actuation systems. Consequently, it protects the system’s interior and thus extends the service life of the sealing system. As a special characteristic, it also reduces the residual oil film. The wiper seal is recommended for use with aggressive aviation media and with high as well as with low temperature requirements that are typical in aviation.

The AW wiper seal featuring a Slipper Seal® design consists of a PTFE slide ring for the wiping function and an elastomer O-ring as a preloading element. It is designed for installation in industry-specific grooves according to AS4716 (MIL-G-5514) and used in hydraulic and electromechanical actuators in aviation applications.

Due to the material combination of the slide ring (PTFE) and the O-ring (elastomer), this product is suitable for a wide range of applications, especially for aggressive media and/or high and low temperatures.

Benefits:

• Good energy efficiency due to low friction.

• High temperature resistance assured by suitable O-ring compound selection.

• Minimal break-away and dynamic friction and no stick-slip tendency ensures uniform motion even at low speeds.

• Excellent wear resistance.

• Dimensions according to AS4716 (MIL-G-5514).

• Installation in closed and undercut housings.
