Well service packing sets, or vee-ring assemblies, are used in rod glands to seal the extension rods which force fluid through the pump in positive displacement pump applications (also known as plunger pumps). Sealing of the extension rods is critical in order to maintain system pressure. In addition to pressure retention, well service packing must keep the pump’s hydraulic fluid and pumping media separated.
Parker’s well service packings are manufactured with superior quality and workmanship to provide exceptional sealing. We engineer and produce complete packing assemblies -- header ring, pressure ring and female adapters -- as well as custom machined lantern rings and spacers.
One of the challenges oil and gas companies face is working with drilling mud and fracking fluids, some of the most destructive media to be sealed. Parker’s proprietary Resilon® Polyurethane material meets the challenges presented in sealing abrasive and caustic fluid with a polyurethane that offers superior wear resistance and the highest operating temperature on the market. In addition to our Resilon Polyurethane, well service packing components from Parker are available in a wide range of elastomeric materials and high performance resins to suit specific well conditions, operating parameters, and fracturing fluids.
Our material offering includes:
• Nitrile
• HSN/HNBR
• Aramid fabric/HNBR composite
• Neoprene
• Fluoroelastomer
• Proprietary Resilon® Polyurethane formulations for water and water-glycol resistance (Resilon 4301) and longer wear (Resilon 4312)
• Filled PTFE blends
• UltraCOMP™ PEEK
Standard and Custom Designs
