Radial shaft seals are low-friction seals for high-speed shafts. Various designs and materials are available for any application.
Radial shaft seals are used in many industrial applications. They provide reliable sealing for rotating shafts with minimal friction, which makes them suitable for sealing even very fast-running shafts with high rotational speeds. A variety of designs makes it possible to adapt the sealing area to the existing conditions.In dirt-prone environments, for instance, versions with dust lips are used, while other designs are suitable for high operating pressures.
In addition to the designs defined in ISO6194 and DIN3760, Parker Prädifa develops custom solutions for specific applications and offers an extensive portfolio of materials. For radial shaft seals, sealing materials with outstanding tribological properties are used, which enhance the reliability, performance and service life of machines.
Available Materials:
The sealing materials used are NBR, HNBR and FKM elastomers, frequently combined with thermoplastic backup rings. When TPU is used, there is no need for backup rings.
