The PXM Pilot Exhaust module is designed to mount under an HA valve and provides an enhanced level of safety by removing pilot pressure across a range of externally piloted valves in the same zone or manifold.
The PXM Pilot Exhaust module provides an enhanced level of safety by enabling an H Series ISO Valve – HA Size – to control the pilot pressure to other externally piloted H Series ISO valves on the same H ISO Universal manifold. This product is designed to mount under an HA valve product as a sandwich accessory. The PXM module removes the pilot pressure to all remaining valves (regardless of size) either on the manifold or within a specific zone while maintaining main supply pressure. This module can be ordered as standard (no sensing), with mechanical pressure switch or with solid-state pressure sensor (longer life) which provides feedback to the PLC on the status of pilot pressure in the zone.
Markets:
• General Industrial
• Packaging
• Automotive
Features/Benefits:
For use when loss of main valve pressure causes a safety or quality concern, the PXM creates a pneumatically controlled safety zone without removal of the PLC’s electrical signals or main supply pressure to the zoned valves.
Enhanced Control is achieved by ordering your valve manifold with externally piloted valves and using the PXM to turn pilot air off (exhausts pilot pressure) or on (pilot is pressurized) as needed. Additional Safety Control is created when pilot pressure controls the operational shut down of several valves in one zone or an entire manifold.
PXM offers design flexibility – by controlling the pilot pressure, the other valves within the zone transition to known states:
5/2 single solenoid (with mechanical spring return) valve will return to the 12-operator state
5/2 Double Solenoid valves will stay in the “last state”
5/3 Double Solenoid valves will shift to the “center position”
o All ports blocked
o Center Exhaust
o Pressure Center
Maintenance Flexibility with 5/3 Center Exhaust valves. In a de-piloted state, components downstream of the valve are depressurized and can be serviced without removal of manifold supply pressure.
Applications:
• Pneumatic valves requiring maintained supply pressure during stop or maintenance
• Allows valves to return to their safe state while maintaining supply pressure in the manifold
