Full Product Description

This flame arrestor is designed in accordance with the requirements defined by technical specification DCS130-0626. The flame arrestor is composed of an outer housing, a flame arrestor element and an inflow pressure relief valve assembly.

The housing is constructed from 6061-T6 aluminum alloy that is nominally 0.90 inches thick and is a stepped rectangular shape, 3.931 inches high. The first step of the thru opening is 0.965 x 2.820 inches and accommodates a Ø1.25 inch hole for the NPRV. The opening then reduces to 0.820 x 2.820 inches which is where the flame arrestor element is installed. There is also a 2.51x4.070 rectangular mounting flange with 6-0.250 thru holes for installation.

The aluminum housing is coated with 954G-303 Teflon® S for corrosion and icing resistance. The entire inner flange mounting face and 0.500 diameter “spotfaces” around the mounting holes on the outer flange face are chemical conversion coated per MIL-DTL-5541, class three for electrical bonding.

The flame arrestor element is constructed of 321 CRES stainless steel. The element selected for the arrestor is a 2.82x0.82 inch rectangle, 0.004 inch-thick foil with 0.062 inch hexagonal cells and is two inches thick (long). The element is retained by two monel rivets that are used to secure the hinge brackets to the housing/body.

The by-pass valve is a normally closed spring-loaded vent valve which provides for inflow venting in case the element becomes clogged or blocked.
