Air-oil separators, by Parker Aerospace, are custom designed to fit application requirements. Unique, proprietary software provides analysis to develop sizing for the flows and air-to-oil ratios in the application.

Parker Aerospace air-oil separators use a cyclonic process to remove air from the main gas turbine engine oil returned to the reservoir so that clean (air-free) oil can be returned to the system for lubrication.

Used on commercial and business jets, military aircraft, and larger helicopters, air-oil separators use a spin chamber and centrifugal force to move oil to the outside and air to the center. This allows removal of air from the oil, which would otherwise degrade the performance of the turbine engine oil and reduce engine efficiency.

The fireproof aluminum air-oil separator is custom designed for the specific aircraft turbine engine lubrication system using proprietary software to determine unit size for the particular flow and oil.

The separator can be located in the oil reservoir. Alternatively, it can be located in a stand-alone, cartridge-style interface.

Parker Aerospace gas turbine fuel systems division has the capability to perform in-house testing, which reduces time and cost.

APPLICATIONS:
This technology is used on scavenged oil returned to the reservoir or gearbox on aircraft such as commercial and business jets, military aircraft, and larger helicopters.
