The remote data concentrator (RDC) provides an intrinsically safe electrical interface to in-tank sensors. It processes sensor data and communicates with the fuel quantity computer (FQC). Multiple RDCs can be connected to accommodate multiple tanks.
The Parker Aerospace remote data concentrator (RDC) is designed to operate with 28VDC. It provides the electrical interface to the in-tank sensors (probes, compensators and temperature sensors). The RDC performs the following functions:
• Provides excitation and processes probe
• Converts sensor readings into capacitance values
• Runs extensive built-in-test on probes and wiring
• Interfaces to RTDs in three-wire configuration
• Converts the temperature signal into temperature measurements
• Transmits data and built-in-test status to the fuel quantity computer (FQC) via the CAN data bus
The RDC has two processing elements referred to as lanes. Each of these lanes has independent processing systems including power supplies and can operate independently of the other lane. The two processing elements within each RDC share information through a cross-channel data link.

APPLICATIONS:
The RDC provides an electrical interface for commercial aircraft, military fighters and transports, plus business and general aircraft.
