Fuel Tank Inerting Controller

Fuel Tank Inerting Controller

The fuel tank inerting controller monitors and controls the fuel tank inerting system (FTIS). Pressure, oxygen, and temperature data are used by the controller to support the distribution of nitrogen enriched air (NEA) into the fuel tank ullage.

Especificaciones técnicas

  • Peso: 10 lbs lb
  • Tamaño: 9.0"H x 2.8"W x 13.5"D
  • Temperatura de funcionamiento: 59 to 158 °F

Descripción completa del producto

The fuel tank inerting controller monitors and controls the fuel tank inerting system (FTIS). The FTIS provides protection against fuel tank fire and explosion by creating inert conditions within the ullage space of the fuel tanks. Pressure, oxygen, and temperature data acquired via analog sensors are used by the controller to support the distribution of nitrogen enriched air (NEA) into the fuel tank ullage.

The fuel tank inerting controller provides automatic control of the FTIS without pilot interaction. It has the ability to open/close the fuel inerting shutoff valves to control the flow of NEA into the fuel tanks. Fundamental features of the fuel tank inerting controller include the following:
• Provides over-temperature protection
• Monitors the oxygen concentration to insure the health of air separation modules
• Controls the temperature control valve and ground cooling fan to provide temperature controlled bleed air for inerting
• Microprocessor-based design
• System fault and health monitoring trend recording in NVM
• Software development according to RTCA-DO 178B and DAL Criticality Level B

Long recognized as a leading provider of innovative gauging solutions and control applications, Parker’s fuel measurement and management systems and components reduce weight and save fuel while minimizing costs and maximizing efficiency.

APPLICATIONS:
Commercial aircraft, military fighters and transports, business and general aviation.

FEATURES AND ATTRIBUTES:
Additional benefits of the fuel tank inerting controller include the following:
• Over-pressure monitoring system
• Independent and isolated analog backup channels to monitor temperature
• Built-in-test to check the system and controller health
• Capable of directly interfacing with onboard maintenance system
• Growth potential (processor performance, memory capability, interface)
