Parker’s Flange Seals for aerospace applications provide an efficient solution for flange sealing of pipes and connected equipment. They avoid groove machining and make it easy to ensure seal presence by means of visual checks.

The seals are easy to install as they are just an extension of the pipe flange and the torque holes are adapted to the flange. Due to the controlled squeeze, controlled void-volume ratio and limited area of fluid attack, these static seals can resist higher pressure than standard O-rings and exhibit longer life due to limited contact with media.

• Overall responsibility for the seal and groove design by seal manufacturer
• Eliminates need for groove machining
• Very large media (HTS oil, Skydrol, jet fuel, mineral oil, water…) and temperature range due to usability of all kinds of elastomers
• Metal-to-metal contact (alternative load path) – no need for periodic retorquing
• Multiple-port sealing available, e.g. for manifolds (with several elastomer configurations such as one port for oil, one for fuel …)
• Seal is visually confirmed after installation and specific color plating can be used; this is a Poka-Yoke installation proof seal
• 63 RMS / 1.6 Ra to 125 RMS / 3.2 Ra finish on the mating surfaces
• Edge of flange seal is always visible

Pressure range: up to 20 000 PSI / 1400 bar
Media immersion: air/water/mineral oil/Skydrol/HTS oil/jet fuels …
Elastomer: depends on the media and temperature range, but can be FVMQ for AMS-R-25988/fuel, EPDM for NAS1613/Skydrol, AMS-R-83485 or AMS 7287 /HTS oil, AMS 7257 for hot air or high temperature HTS up to 320 °C)
